ChatGPT and Google Bard are two of the most widely used conversational AI platforms.

In fact, many copywriters and marketers have been relying on them to create content as quickly as possible.

But are they generating unique content or duplicate content?

By now, you already know that both ChatGPT and Bard have played a significant role in the way people

perceive artificial intelligence.

Let’s jump in!

ChatGPT vs Bard

I have decided to conduct an experiment where I gave these two conversational AI platforms the same prompt to write the same 100 articles and checked whether their articles were unique or duplicates.

To ensure a fair comparison I:

  • Gave a standardized set of prompt to both models
  • Used Grammarly to identify any instances of Plagiarism
  • Run the experiment multiple times to ensure a guaranteed result
  • considered involving my LinkedIn network and a virtual assistant to carefully evaluate the content subjectively.

Here’s a Summary of Our Key Findings:

  • Brands prefer ChatGPT over Bard
  • Bard produces more quality content than ChatGPT
  • Bard Produces more unique content that ChartGPT
  • ChatGPT produces more duplicate content than Bard
  • People prefer human-written content over that of AI.

Which Produces More Duplicate and More Unique Content? – ChatGPT vs Bard

As you can see from the chart above, out of the 100 articles produced by ChatGPT, 77.3% were unique and 26.3% were duplicates.

On the other side, out of the 100 prompts given to Bard, 84.5% of the contents were unique, while 15.5% were duplicates.

Did you see this coming?

Which module produces overall-quality content?

As a copywriter, I have a lot of experienced copywriters in my LinkedIn network.

What did I do next? I selected five posts each from ChatGPT and Bard’s content created in response to the same prompt and shared them with some of the top creators on the LinkedIn network to determine which model had the best content based on the following factors:

Informational richness: Does their response provide adequate information and fully answer the query?

Objectivity: Is the response free from personal opinion and bias?

Creativity: Do the models show originality and go beyond basic concepts?

Topic Relevance: Is the response on topic and factually accurate?

Originality: Do the answers refrain from plagiarism or overuse of the same words?

Well, I know you probably thought ChatGPT won this race hands-down due to it’s popularity. Isn’t it?

I’m sorry to be the one to break the bad news. As you can see from the chart above, Bard won here again.

Three of these creators voted for Bard, while the remaining two voted in favour of ChatGPT.

Final Thought

“You’ve finally made it here. Incredible!

So, which conversational AI platform should you trust for your content creation based on the results?

Well, you shouldn’t over-rely on any of these conversational AI platforms. If you aim to create fresh and experience-based content, human-written content is necessary, although AI can still play a significant role. Can you imagine every blog on the web being written by AI?

Now, I’d like to hear from you.

Or maybe you have a question about what you’ve read. Either way, I’d like to hear what you have to say. Feel free to leave a comment below right now.”
